Off the beaten path in Northern Granville County, stands a majestic 1800s farm house. Shadowing Oaks venue and The Watkins House now opens its doors to welcome you. Be it a wedding, elegant or rustic, family reunion, corporate event, Christmas party, bridal shower, baby shower or simply a peaceful getaway vacation, all are welcome at the Watkins Home and Shadowing Oaks venue.

The Watkins House & Shadowing Oaks Venue is open to all types of events. We have hosted family reunions, baby showers, wedding showers, corporate events, Christmas parties and many more. The Watkins House provides over 4800 sqft. for your event. We offer both indoor and outdoor event space. Our outdoor venue is a 40′ x 100′ metal building that can seat 250 – 275 comfortably. Our outdoor venue offers an air conditioned prep kitchen and clean indoor restrooms for your guests.

We had our wedding here in October 2019 and it was absolutely perfect!!! First let me start by saying that the owners, Buck and Melba were extremely supportive and helpful! They were open to all our ideas for event layout and decorations! With the covered shelter we didn’t need to worry about rainy weather or lack of shade! The grounds are just romantic! There are multiple places for photo opportunities and at night the lights are to swoon for! Also the inside of Shadowing Oaks is just gorgeous! My bridesmaids and I stayed the night and had an awesome time! With the upstairs rooms we had plenty of space to get ready and were not cramped! The kitchen is perfect for storing additional food and for fixing the wedding day brunch! I cannot express how AMAZING Shadowing Oaks is! This is the best venue in Oxford! Thank you for everything!
